Biografia

Laura de Fusco è nata a Castellammare di Stabia il 4 novembre 1946.

Talento precoce, fu allieva del grande didatta Vincenzo Vitale. A 12 anni debuttò

con l’Orchestra “Scarlatti” di Napoli eseguendo il secondo concerto di Saint-Saens sotto la direzione di Pietro Argento.

 Vincitrice tra l’altro della Rassegna Nazionale Giovani Pianisti indetta dall’Unione Musicale di Torino nel 1960 e nel 1963 del Primo Premio Assoluto al Concorso

Internazionale “Pozzoli” di Seregno.

Nel 1966 debuttò nei Concerti dell’Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia di Roma e al Teatro alla Scala di Milano. Ospite delle più importanti istituzioni concertistiche italiane, ha collaborato con Direttori

quali Riccardo Muti, Aldo Ceccato, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Chailly, Eliahu Inbal etc. suonando con prestigiose orchestre tra le quali la Philadelphia Orchestra, la Detroit Symphony, la BBC Philarmonic e l’Orchestra Sinfonica di Mosca. Recentemente ha ottenuto grande successo eseguendo in varie sedi le Sonate di Prokofiev e, al Teatro alla Scala di Milano, gli Etudes – Tableaux di Rachmaninov.

Laura de Fusco ha sempre frequentato anche il repertorio cameristico partecipando assiduamente, su invito di Rudolf Serkin, al Chamber Music Festival di Marlboro (USA). Ha inciso dischi per la RCA, Ricordi, Fonit Cetra. E’ docente di Pianoforte Principale al Conservatorio S. Pietro a Majella di Napoli.

Laura de Fusco was born in Castellammare di Stabia on November 4th 1946.  A talent at a very young age, she was pupil of the great educator Vincenzo Vitale. 

She was only 12 years old when she debuted with the “Scarlatti Orchestra” of Naples performing the second concert of “Saint-Saens” under the direction of Pietro Argento.  She was also the winner of the 1960 “Young Pianist National Review” promoted by “The Turin Music Union”. 

In 1963 Laura de Fusco won the first place in the “Pozzoli International Competition” in Seregno.
In 1966 she debuted at the “Concerts of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia” in Rome and at “ La Scala Theatre” in Milan. 

She was a guest of major Italian concert institutions and collaborated with Directors like Riccardo Muti, Aldo Ceccato, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Chailly, Eliahu Inbal etc.  de Fusco performed with prestigious orchestras, among them: “The Philadelphia Orchestra”, “The Detroit Symphony”, “The BBC Philharmonic”, and the “Symphonic Orchestra of Moscow”.  Recently she has received great success performing in various sites the “Sonatas of Prokofiev” and at “La Scala” of Milan the “Etudes – Tableaux of Rachmaninov”. 

Laura de Fusco has always attended the chamber music repertoire participating regularly, invited by Rudolf Serkin, at the “Chamber Music Festival of Marlboro”, (USA).
She published records for RCA, Ricordi, Fonit Cetra.
Laura de Fusco is teacher of Principal Piano at the “S. Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Naples”.
